The Delight Song of John Mayfield

I am a rock on the peaceful mountain
I am a blue jay that flies on the wind
I am a bear that growls, dangerously in the forest
I am the trouble that follows the mischief
I am the sunset, the tranquility of the earth
I am a squirrel playing with the butterflies
I am a cluster of ripe strawberries
I am the farthest rainbow
I am the cold of the glacier
I am the howling of the wolves
I am the glitter of the morning frost
I am the long snake of the river in the jungle
I am a fabric of four colours
I am a deer running through the dawning meadows
I am a field of flowers and fauna
I am a school of fish in the twisting water
I am the hunger and unfulfilled soul
I am the whole center of these things.

You see, I am alive, I am alive

I stand in good relation to the Lord
I stand in good relation to the earth
I stand in good relation to the animals
I stand in good relation to myself

You see, I am alive, I am alive
